Sea survival and safety, a refreshing experience in Southampton

October 13, 2014

On the 11th and 12th of october part of the Winsome crew did a sea survival and safety course, or an update as they did it previously. Real English weather accompanied us across the Channel and basically throughout the whole weekend. It didn’t matter anyway as after a brief classroom session we all jumped in a pool, wearing sailing gear and life vests. Life in a liferaft is not one to take lightly, no horizon, seasickness even for those who say they never get seasick, wet and cramped. The best piece of advice is to do your best never to get in to this situation. We considered it to be a teambuilding exercise as well, so after we dried up and finished the fireworks we went to the pub. We had an excellent night in Oxford street and the next day we flew back to Amsterdam. Next stop: Malta. We’re ready.
