Round the Island Race 2015

Saturday June 27th, Winsome will compete in the 84th Round the Island Race. In the first race, 25 yachts competed. In two days time 1584 yachts will crowd the startling on the Solent. Looking at the synopsis, we are expecting 10 knots of breeze at the start, giving us a beat up to the Needles, running with the tide. After (probably) rounding the wreck, and definitely the Needles, we will have a kite ride against the tide and a two sail passed Bembridge. This brings us back in the Solent for a final beat to the finish. The wind will probably build during the day to 20 knots, giving us a great day of sailing. Winsome is looking good, her crew is highly motivated. We are looking forward to raceday, one of the best races of the season!
