WINSOME SEASON 2011

Preparations for the 2011 season have started months ago. WINSOME is undergoing a refit at Berthon’s boatyard in Lymington. Harry still has to decide whether to leave the engine out of the boat, overhaul it, or replace it by a set of carbon rowing oars, just to save weight. We are hoping that by the end of March, WINSOME will be ready. During the first days of April we will bring her back to Cowes, dress her with UK/De Vries wardrobe and do some initial testing to see if we can get the navigation systems online.

Our first event this year will be the RORC Easter Regatta. Applications are coming in for nearly all the events this year and already some events are fully or overbooked. Please contact Boj if you have not sent him your requests already, and if you have, it is wise to speak to Boj as not every request can be honorated.

From April to the end of September WINSOME has a busy calendar, this year is also the year of another Rolex Fastnet race. Within one week of the opening of the registration, already 250 boats have signed up with entries from all over the world. With a maximum of 300 boats, it will only be a matter of time before the registration closes.

Let’s all have a look at our own agenda’s to create more time on the water. What else is there to do? All your best friends are on the same boat, enjoying the sailing and it beats even the best days in the office!
