Cowes week 2011: reflections

August 26, 2011

Already it seems like a long time ago, Cowes Week 2011. Getting a wake-up call from Ocean 1, 2 or Twin Wakes, racing on the Solent, and drinking beers on Peter Morton’s deck, who so kindly showed us where his secret beer stash was. Don’t worry Peter, your secret is safe with us. The Mahiki bar at Cowes Yacht Haven have poured their last cocktail, treasure chest, or one of Boj’s favourites: the Zombie. The last drink, also known as the ‘the English gifbeker’ definately was the last drink of everyone’s evening. The Bar’s decent crowed has fled, wel crawled, from the island. Probably High Street is deserted and it rains just as much there as it does in Holland. Already another race has been sailed and the last race of the season is shortly coming up.

Time flies, and again another season is nearly coming to an end. Already preparations are being made at Berthon to give the old lady a nice and comfortable rest this winter in Lymington, appointments with sailmakers are being made and endless lists are being made even longer. What’s new? We will keep you all up to date.

Pictures from Cowes Week 2011 are online for anyone who likes to get an impression of this summer.
