Het is nacht. Veel booreilanden in ons vaarwater

August 25, 2010

Genoa III was kept up until the wind became 20 knots. When we decided to change her for Genoa II the wind dropped suddenly to 11 knots so we changed her for Genoa I instead.

Reima meantime has been able to repair the hole in Genoa III which is giving us confidence. This in combination with the favourable outlook for a good place RORC is giving you and us.

A couple of hours later we had to change Genoa I for Genoa II after the wind picked up to 22 knots which it still is.

We have now covered 316 Nm and the only two tacks we made sofar were half an hour ago to avoid a collision with a supply boat not knowing what he was doing. Obviously we lost some time here, but it is a long lond race with many things to happen as yet.

I am writing this report at 4am UTC when most of you will be in dreamland.

Best regards
