continuation of our flight to Tasmania

November 7, 2010

After Pilatus Aircraft Factory replaced our Yaw damper actuator, we did
not find any problems of any sort anymore.

We departed from Buochs Friday morning 11:00 local time and we arrived again in Heraklion in the afternoon. No one was waiting for us with a dinner party. Not even Anastasia of Swissport was there, much to our regret.

Saturday morning 09:00 local time we departed for Amman, Jordania, just to fuel the aircraft up. No problems.

We departed same day again for Dubai since Muscat did not give us
permission to stay overnight because of a religious holiday or festival. At Dubai we had an exciting approach in between much bigger and much faster aircrafts. We started as number 8 in the holding pattern. It was dark already. Thanks to Urs we made a flawless/professional approach and landing. We put fuel in the aircraft and had to wait thereafter another two hours to get a taxi and a hotel. Quite disappointing since we were tired.

During the last flight I used the bed we made in the back of the aircraft
for an hour. Other than all those important issues I can report that the
vacuum cleaner works and the coolbox is doing it’s work properly.

Today is a day of rest in Dubai, where I try to recover from my bronchitis which is trying to stay with me forever.

Tomorrow we will leave for Achmadabad to fuel, then to Kolkata [Calcutta] to stay for the night.

Martin Koppelaar is on his way to Berlin by car now (..). He left us in
Buochs at a time we were not at all sure if the aircraft would be ready
again at short notice. He knows now that he was wrong and we do regret his departure. Now we have to vacuumclean the aircrraft ourselves, pick up the coffee ourselves etc.

Will be continued.
