WINSOME high and dry on Sevenstar’s BBC GREENLAND

September 12, 2014

This morning we left Cowes at 0500 to be in time at Southampton. We succeeded very well and arrived 75 minutes early. We berthed on an outside floating pontoon of the Southampton Boat Show. A guard warned us not to get on the pontoon to avoid being imprissoned. No chance for Floris to get on land though we argued that a pontoon could not really be considered as “land”. To no avail. The guard kept his ears closed for all our valid arguments and propositions such as carrying Floris on his back. So we dropped Floris at a marina close to the Red Jet Ferry to catch his flight to Texel (wasn’t that your destination Floris?).

Soon after 0900 we met James Comber, whom I knew from the past working still for Wainright.

Everything went very well, all being very well prepared by Leen.

After WINSOME was lashed quite professionally on deck, we saw BELLADUNA coming closer to be lifted next. On Board Nick Jones, whom many of us know from his double handed races with Suzy, which resulted in having two kids now.

Later we saw the monster VARUNA. She will be loaded as last boat plus a 40′ container. Who still dares to comment on DE HOK in East Cowes?

Nick Jones will so kind to look after WINSOME when being discharged in Valetta and he taken Leen’s keys already with him.

Paul Miller, the Load Master of Sevenstar did an excellent job!

BBC GREENLAND will leave Southampton at 1800, ETA Malta 26th of September.

My thanks to everyone who helped to get WINSOME booked and fixed on deck.
