You all know as much as I do about the results of the devastating coronavirus. Winsome remains in Berthon’s paint-shed whilst her berth at East Cowes Marina remains empty. Luna remains in her shed in Yarmouth. I remain at some 80 Nm from Cowes: with Sophie at her very nice country house/farm in Normandy. There is here for me more than 40 years of work to do on trees, brooks, land, and stables, at my present speed (..).

My ‘young’ friend Albert Thissen is helping me with the brooks and he does a very good job with his Australian machete originally belonging to his father who used it in jungle training in Australia, just before the second world war ended.

Here below some photographs of Sophie’s beautiful place in Morsalines and of some of our activities.

It makes no sense to make any predictions, but I personally think that two races this year may be possible if we are very lucky: 4th September RORC Cowes-Cherbourg and 26th September ISC Round the Island Race.

I feel somewhat guilty being here in this safe area, not being at home in Amsterdam, but it all was a coincidence
